An SMRT bus captain was caught on a dash camera disembarking his vehicle to allegedly scold the driver of a Honda Shuttle that was blocking his path.

The two-minute-long video was posted to SG Road Vigilante's Facebook page with a caption stating that the bus captain was "upset" at the driver and had gotten down to "show his displeasure".

Responding to Mothership's queries, SMRT Buses' Deputy Managing Director Vincent Gay revealed that an incident had occurred on Dec. 24, 2025 at about 3pm near Woodlands Avenue 1 as bus service 913M was approaching the bus stop.

The car was obstructing access to the bus stop, rendering the bus unable to enter the bus bay to allow passengers to alight.

Bus captain sounded horn but car refused to move forward

In the video, the bus captain is depicted standing next to the Honda Shuttle gesturing forward and vigorously multiple times before walking off the frame.

The video cuts back to the bus captain entering the bus as traffic flow moves forward and he is able to enter the bus bay.

According to Gay, the bus captain sounded his horn to alert the Honda driver to move ahead into the available space.

However, the car did not budge and continued to block the bus stop.

"The bus captain alighted from the bus and gestured for the driver to move forward so that passenger alighting could take place, and the service could continue on schedule."

Gay stated that despite this, "the driver reversed the car instead of moving forward".

This was not captured in the video, however.

Road users should be civic-minded

In the statement, Gay urged "all road users to be civic-minded and to exercise consideration for one another to ensure a smooth and safe commute for everyone".

"Our Bus Captains have also been reminded to remain calm and professional at all times."
