SEA Games: S'pore clinches 15 medals, including 5 gold as of Dec. 11 morning

Singaporean athletes have won a total of 15 medals at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) as at Dec. 11.

According to Team Singapore's medal tally as at 10am, Team Singapore clinched five gold medals, four silver medals and six bronze medals across badminton, canoe, ju-jitsu, swimming, billiards and snooker, and taekwondo.

Singapore currently ranks third place, according to the SEA Games medal standings.

Five gold

Canoe, ju-jitsu, swimming and taekwondo

Earlier on Dec. 10, Diyanah Aqidah and Nicholas Khaw won Singapore's first gold in the 2025 SEA Games after beating Vietnam with a score of 8.670 in the Recognised Poomsae Mixed Pair event for taekwondo.

In ju-jitsu, Jedd Tan Shi Jie, 18, clinched a gold medal after beating Thailand's Aunjai Chanwit 16 – 9 in the finals for the Men's Fighting Under 77KG category at 4pm.

Canoeing athletes Stephenie Chen Jiexian, 34, and Teo Guang Yi Lucas, 35, also earned a gold medal after finishing first with a record time of one minute and 49 seconds in the Mixed Canoe Sprint Kayak Double 500m finals held at 4pm.

In swimming, Mikkel Lee Jun Jie, 23, won gold after finishing first out of eight in the Men's 100m Freestyle finals at 7:26pm. The achievement also marks his new Personal Best.

Another gold medal was also earned by Letitia Sim En Yi, 22, for finishing first out of eight in the Women's 50m Breaststroke finals at 7:44pm. This is a new Games Record.

Four silver

Canoe, swimming and taekwondo

Nicole Alethea Khaw Mei Shan, 26, clinched a silver medal in the taekwondo freestyle poomsae (Individual Female Final) category held at 9am (Thailand time).

She ended in second place after Thailand's Limjitakorn Watcharakul, and beat Chanthakhammany Phouttavan from the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

In canoeing, athletes Alden Ler, 22, Brandon Ooi Wei Cheng, 31, Stephenie Chen Jiexian, 34, Evan Ching Heen On, 16, Kayla Angelina Thesman, 19, and Ng Georgia, 23, won silver after finishing in second place in the Mixed Canoe Sprint Kayak Four 500m finals at 4:45pm.

National swimmers Quah Zheng Wen, 29, as well as Ashley Lim Yi-Xuan, 20, Gan Ching Hwee, 22, Quah Jing Wen, 25, and Quah Ting Wen, 33, clinched two silver medals in the Men's 100m Freestyle finals and the Women's 4X100m Freestyle Relay finals respectively.

Six bronze

Badminton and taekwondo

On Dec. 8, the Singapore women's badminton team won a joint bronze medal in the women's semifinals against Thailand, while the men's team also won a joint bronze medal after the men's semifinals against Indonesia.

Yap Zong Han Darren, 21, was awarded a bronze in the taekwondo freestyle poomsae (Individual Male Final) category held at 9am (Thailand time) on Dec. 10 after tying with Malaysia's Chin Ken Haw in third place.

In swimming, Quah Jing Wen and Quah Zheng Wen each won a bronze medal in the Women's 200m Butterfly finals and the Men's 100m Backstroke finals respectively, both finishing in third place.

In billiards and snooker, Charlene Chai and Audrey Chua secured a joint bronze medal.
