A 41-year-old man on a personal mobility device (PMD) was sent to the hospital after he got hit by a car in Bishan on Dec. 9.

A video of the incident was shared online on Dec. 10.

It showed the PMD rider apparently trying to make his way across the road via the pedestrian crossing when the traffic light was not in his favour.

In response to Mothership's queries, the police said the incident occurred at the junction of Bishan Road and Bishan Street 11 at around 7:35pm.

"Red man" was on

In the 20-second clip, the PMD rider could be seen making his way across the road even though the "red man" was on.

He slowed down and came to a halt just as he was about to make it across.

An oncoming car then slammed into his left side, which sent him flying.

Right after the collision, the man rose to his feet immediately and walked over to his PMD to pick up his belongings.

The car driver was also seen exiting the vehicle to check on the rider.

Driver assisting with investigations

The rider was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital in a conscious state.

According to SPF, the 43-year-old male car driver is assisting with ongoing investigations.
