Train service along one of Kuala Lumpur's LRT lines was delayed on Dec. 10 after an object fell onto the tracks, leaving a train stuck.

The fallen object appeared to have been an advertisement banner.

Train braked when it entered station

According to Sin Chew Daily, the incident happened at Kerinchi station along the Kelana Jaya LRT line.

Kerinchi station is an elevated station housed inside a commercial complex.

As a train entered the station at about 10:30am, the emergency brakes were suddenly applied, causing the train to ground to a halt.

Commuters were later instructed to alight from the affected train.

One commuter later discovered that a foreign object, apparently a large advertising banner, had become caught in the train's undercarriage.

Station staff were seen attempting to remove the obstacle and dislodge the train.

Train services resumed after 11:33am

At 11:17am, RapidKL, the train operator, shared on X that there were delays along the LRT line "due to a foreign object blocking the track".

It also pointed out that repair work is underway.

About 16 minutes later, at 11:33am, it updated that the object had been removed and train services would resume shortly after.

A separate delay along the same LRT line appeared to have occurred earlier on Dec. 10.

In an X post at 7:03am, RapidKL shared that there was a delay along the Kelana Jaya LRT line due to a technical disruption.
