Train service along one of Kuala Lumpur's LRT lines was delayed on Dec. 10 after an object fell onto the tracks, leaving a train stuck.
The fallen object appeared to have been an advertisement banner.
Train braked when it entered station
According to Sin Chew Daily, the incident happened at Kerinchi station along the Kelana Jaya LRT line.
Kerinchi station is an elevated station housed inside a commercial complex.
As a train entered the station at about 10:30am, the emergency brakes were suddenly applied, causing the train to ground to a halt.
Commuters were later instructed to alight from the affected train.
One commuter later discovered that a foreign object, apparently a large advertising banner, had become caught in the train's undercarriage.
Station staff were seen attempting to remove the obstacle and dislodge the train.
