Singapore picked up an additional 17 medals at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) on Dec. 11, bringing the tally to 32.

The medals that day included four gold, six silver, and seven bronze medals.

Here are some key moments from Dec. 11 at the SEA Games, hosted in Thailand.

Athletics

Singapore's sprint queen Shanti Pereira defended her crown at the women's 100m event in Bangkok, clinching gold with a time of 11.36 seconds.

It was the 29-year-old's season's best time, and faster than the 11.41 seconds that won her the same event at the previous SEA Games in 2023.

Minutes before the race, she told Olympics.com that she was "so nervous".

"The 100m is always so scary for me because I always messed it up at the start and I guess I did the same thing today," she said. "But I trusted in my training, my top end speed and it paid off, so I'm really happy."

Pereira added that she was excited to compete next in the 200m, taking place on Dec. 13.

Also on the field, Singapore's Gabriel Lee took bronze at the men's triple jump, soaring to a height of 16.09m.

The 22-year-old's effort set a new national record and secured the first SEA Games medal for Singapore in the event since 1971.

Swimming

In the pool, Singapore's swimmers secured a total of three gold, three silver, and two bronze medals on Dec. 11.

Letitia Sim's gold in the women's 200m individual medley set both a national and a SEA Games record with a time of 2:13.42.

It was her second gold medal of the competition after claiming one on Dec. 10 in the women's 50m breaststroke, which also smashed the SEA Games record.

At the women's 200m freestyle, Gan Ching Hwee retained her title with a time of 2:00.02, and Quah Jing Wen finished sixth.

For the men, Mikkel Lee, who won gold the day before at the 100m freestyle, also took the title at the 50m freestyle at 21.92 seconds.

Fellow Singaporean Teong Tzen Wei was right behind him at 22.42 seconds, adding a silver to the bag.

There were also two silver medals by Quah Zheng Wen, at the 50m backstroke, and Chan Chun Ho, at the men's 100m breaststroke.

Additionally, the Singapore men's team claimed bronze in the 4x200m freestyle event.

Gymnastics

Asher Pua took silver at the men's pommel horse with a score of 13.1, while 16-year-old Colleen Hong clinched bronze at the women's artistic uneven bars with a score of 10.933.

Basketball and football

The men's 3x3 basketball team made history with a silver medal, the first-ever SEA Games medal at the event for Singapore.

The team, made up of Ching Zhen Yu, Liam Blakney, Nur Aufa Emil Putra, and Xu Duanyang, beat 2019 champions Philippines 21-20 in the semi-finals.

Later in the evening, they put up a strong fight but ultimately fell to host nation Thailand 18-21.

After the game, Aufa said that their result meant the team's last two years of hard work had led to progress and growth.

"To us, this is another step before we go onto the world level," he added. "We want to win the Asia Cup, we want to go to a World Cup and, hopefully reach the Olympics one day. Hopefully we progress, and in future [inspire] kids who might get interested today."

On the football field, the Young Lions bowed out of the SEA Games for the sixth consecutive year after a gruelling 0-3 defeat to Thailand on Dec. 11.

When asked if he will step down, Young Lions head coach Firdaus Kassim told The Straits Times: "It’s too early for me to answer now. I’ll have a conversation with the management and see what the direction is."
