WhatsappA Bukit Batok resident's Sunday rest was cut short after a wedding car allegedly honked "incessantly" at their Housing and Development Board (HDB) car park on Nov. 30 morning.

Stomp reported that the incident happened at Block 161 Bukit Batok Street 11.

According to the photos, the wedding car was a white BMW with a pink bouquet on its bonnet.

The driver's seat was open, with a wheelchair user and another individual standing on the walkway behind the car.

Awakened

According to the resident, the wedding car apparently arrived at the car park at 6:15 am, reported Stomp.

The "whole neighbourhood" was subsequently awakened by its endless honking, lamented the resident.

As Nov. 30 was a Sunday, when many were catching up on some rest, the resident criticised the honking as "very selfish and inconsiderate".

They also added that private events should not disturb the whole estate.

New wedding practice

A Feng Shui master told Shin Min Daily News that it is a new trend to honk when picking up brides.

"It is actually a way to rally the mood, making the wedding feel grand. It is also a way to bless the newlyweds with many children and a smooth life ahead," added the Feng Shui master.

While such a practice aimed to set the couple off on a good start, the Feng Shui master said that wedding cars should avoid disturbing others when they are in an HDB estate.
