Taiwanese influencer Iris Hsieh, 31, who died in a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur on Oct. 22, was cremated on Nov. 16.

This comes after her body was kept in the morgue for 25 days for investigations.

According to China Press, Hsieh's parents were not present but appointed a lawyer and representatives to handle her funeral.

They were unable to hide their grief as they watched the proceedings over a video stream, China Press reported.

Ashes will be transported to Taiwan

The family's lawyer, Chen Junda, told China Press in an interview at the crematorium in Shah Alam that Hsieh's parents are still grieving and are finding it difficult to come to terms with their daughter's death.

Chen added that further action will only be taken after the family has calmed down and funeral arrangements have been completely finished.

The lawyer and several funeral service personnel were seen arriving at 8:30am on Nov. 16, including two mortuary makeup artists.

According to Sin Chew Daily, Hsieh's portrait was not placed on the offering table, but there were several fruits and food, including a bubble tea.

Her coffin was pushed into the furnace for cremation at 10:30am.

Hsieh's ashes will be arranged to be transported to Taiwan.

Namewee released

Malaysian rapper, Namewee, who was initially arrested in connection to Hsieh's death, was released after nine days in remand.

Police investigators said there were no evidence to link the rapper to her death.

In a Facebook post after his release, Namewee said he had tried his best to save the Taiwanese, also known as Hsieh Yu-hsin, but it was "too late".

"This is the first time in my life where someone died in front of my eyes. I was extremely upset, helpless and shocked. I tried my best to save her, but it was too late. The image will be etched in my mind forever."
