Fire destroys Telok Blangah coffee shop, 80 people in block evacuated
One person was taken to Singapore General Hospital for smoke inhalation.
A fire broke out at a coffee shop under a block of flats in Telok Blangah on Nov. 29
About 80 people living in the block were evacuated.
Videos online showed thick smoke coming out of the coffee shop.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in a Facebook post that they were alerted to the fire at Block 61 Telok Blangah Heights at about 11:10am.
Several stalls were on fire when firefighters arrived at the scene.
SCDF extinguished the blaze using three water jets.
Seven people were assessed for smoke inhalation.
One of them was taken to Singapore General Hospital.
SCDF subsequently said two people were conveyed to the hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The SCDF previously said on Feb. 13, 2025 that the number of fires had increased in 2024 compared to 2023.
There were 1,990 fires in 2024, and 1,954 in 2023.
The number of fire-related deaths had increased from three in 2023 to five in 2024.
