The "Battlestar Galactica: Human vs Cylon" roller coaster ride at Universal Studios Singapore (USS) stalled mid-ride on Nov. 28, causing one of its cars to become stationary on the track.

This prompted 16 riders to disembark and descend from the ride on foot, with the help of staff.

Safety checks have since been completed, and the ride was slated to resume on Nov. 29, a Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) spokesperson said.

Stalled in the rain

In a video shared on TikTok by user @_vannyboo, a roller coaster car could be seen stalled in the middle of the track on a slope.

According to @_vannyboo, it was raining at the time.

Riders were later seen disembarking from the ride on foot along a walkway.

The disruption appeared to have affected the "Human" half of the ride.

"Battlestar Galactica: Human vs Cylon" at USS is a duelling roller coaster that offers two options for riders.

One half, called "Cylon", is an inverted roller coaster, while the other, called "Human", is a seated roller coaster.

No injuries reported

Responding to queries from Mothership, an RWS spokesperson shared that the roller coaster experienced a "temporary technical interruption" at about 5pm on Nov. 28.

RWS operates USS.

"As part of our strict safety protocols, it automatically stopped at a safe point on the track. Our trained operations team promptly assisted all 16 riders to disembark in accordance with our standard operating procedures," the spokesperson added.

No injuries were reported.

A safety check has been completed, and the ride will resume on Saturday.

"The safety of our guests is always our top priority. We regret any inconvenience caused and thank our guests for their patience and understanding," the spokesperson said.
