New bus service 44 direct from Punggol to Changi Airport during peak hours
The bus route will travel along the TPE and PIE.
Good news, Punggol residents, a new direct airport bus will now take you to and from Changi Airport during peak periods.
Bus service 44, operated by Go-Ahead Singapore, trawls a route from the Punggol Coast integrated transport hub to Changi Airport via the Tampines Expressway (TPE) and Pan-Island Expressway (PIE).
The route stops at Punggol MRT station, the Samudera, Nibong and Sumang LRT stations and all of Changi Airport's four terminals.
The route from Punggol Coast to Changi Airport operates from 6:30am to 8:30am, while the return route operates from 5:15pm to 7:15pm.
Greater convenience for Punggol residents
Bus service 44 started operating on Nov. 10, announced Punggol GRC Member of Parliament Sun Xueling in a Facebook post.
The bus provides a direct connection from Punggol to Changi Airport and offers greater convenience for residents working in the Changi area, Sun wrote.
Sun also shared a picture of herself thanking one of the bus captains on the new service.

"The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will monitor the new service and its ridership as we continue to improve transport connectivity for our residents," Sun added.
Other upcoming services
Bus service 44 had been announced in October, as part of service improvements under the Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP).
Including service 44, LTA will introduce six new bus services by the end of 2025.
In addition, LTA will also introduce five more City Direct services for the North East region and implement two route extensions.
LTA said that these improvements were made following its reviews of the bus network, ridership patterns and areas of growing demand, as well as feedback from community leaders and public transport operators.
The BCEP is expected to cost up to S$900 million over eight years to improve bus services in response to changes in travel patterns and increased demand, especially in areas with fewer existing bus services.
