Subway’s Everyday Value Meal includes a 6-inch sub, drink & cookie at just S$6.80
Eat fresh even in a busy work week.
Everyone has their favourite food, a special dish they turn to when they’re not quite sure what to get.
For some it’s a good, thick steak. For others, a piping hot bowl of noodles. For me, it’s the humble sandwich. I’m not exactly sure why I love the humble sandwich so much, but I think it’s got to do with potential. You can throw almost anything between two slices of bread and you have a winning meal.
If you’ve got the time, then creating a gargantuan sandwich can be a work of art. But when you are rushing between meetings or just trying to survive the day, finding a quick satisfying meal that still feels like a win isn’t always easy. Fortunately, Subway is there to satisfy my sandwich cravings.
With around 150 restaurants across the island, it’s easy for a sandwich lover like myself to grab a sub in the morning, for a quick lunch in between deadlines, or to stop by after a hard day’s work.
While there are lots of different combinations to choose from already, Subway has rolled out five Everyday Value Meals, including the brand new Chicken Delite, Each meal costs just S$6.80, and it comes with a cookie and a 16oz drink.
What’s even better? It’s available 7 days a week.
This is absolutely perfect for someone who makes tough decisions all day at work, and doesn’t want to waste extra brain power deciding what to have for lunch, much like how the late Steve Jobs defaulted to wearing a black turtleneck sweater everyday so he could think about more important things.
With five tasty picks, the only tough part was choosing which to get each day. So, what do these subs actually taste like?
Monday - Chicken Delite

Of course I went for the new offering on Monday, the grimmest, glummest, often gloomiest day of the week where you are as far from the weekend as it is possible to get. It is important to have something to look forward to in life, and for me, a new sandwich fits the bill.
This is a well-balanced sub, first and foremost. It has the right mix of tasty meat, crunchy vegetables and fills the stomach, all the factors that I look for in a sandwich.
Chicken is one of my go-to proteins when making a sandwich, so I was glad to see it in this new Sub. The combo of flavours meant that it was just as good as if I made it myself.
Tuesday - Egg Mayo

I’m not usually a big vegetarian guy, but in recent years I’ve gotten interested in meat substitutes that still provide protein. Eggs are often brought up as a good source of protein, and sometimes laying off meat for a day or two can have other health benefits.
I was pleasantly surprised with the egg and mayo combination, as I expected it to be a gooey mess. Instead the amount of mayo was just right, not over the top. The amount of eggs given is very generous, and there are also little hidden bits of boiled egg in the spread that provide a nice textural contrast.
While I wouldn’t eat a non-meat option everyday, the Egg Mayo sub provides a nice option when I want to switch things up a little.
Wednesday - Spicy Beef Taco

While I usually have tacos on Tuesday as per tradition, this little treat was just as good on Wednesday to celebrate the mid-week mark.
With the toasted bread, biting into this sub puts one in mind of a hard-shell taco, made more familiar with the taste of the spicy, juicy minced beef.
The cheese included wasn’t the crumbly, hard-textured cheese I was used to with tacos, but the melty kind that was still just as good.
The combo of spicy beef and cool veggies was just right. I was so full, I didn’t even need to get a mid-day snack later like I usually would.
Thursday - Veggie Delite

Thursday exists in the strange nether zone where it’s not quite the weekend, but far enough from Monday that you start dreaming of it.
Thursday is a strange day, a day for you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new, and so for me that involved trying a Veggie Delite.
I am on the wrong side of my 30s and in all my time on this Earth, I have never ordered a Veggie Delite because I can’t imagine a world without protein. But for the sake of novelty, I had one anyway.
And I have to say, it was pretty good. There was a surprising amount of spice, with zesty jalapeno slices, that helped to make the sub less boring than I anticipated. Fortunately I’m also a big fan of pickles, and I asked for more to bring out the extra crunch and taste.
Will the Veggie Delite dethrone my usual go-to option? Nope, but it did show me that a sub without meat could still be pretty tasty. And a good option for wacky Thursdays.
Friday - Chicken Chorizo

There’s a good reason that legendary English rock band The Cure soared to immortality on the back of their hit song “Friday I’m In Love.” That’s because the love of Fridays is common across the globe.
For Friday I went with Chicken Chorizo, a spicy Spanish sausage that pairs very well with cheese and dressing. The smoky flavour and pairing with the veggies just works a treat. Just like Friday is a treat for every working body in this economy.
Did I mention that an Everyday Value Meal is just S$6.80 and it comes with your choice of 16oz drink and a cookie? Oh, I did? That’s because it’s genuinely good enough to be repeated. Save time, cash and choices when you treat yourself to a Subway meal.
No matter what sub you pick, the Subway Everyday Value meal is available every day, anytime at all Subway restaurants islandwide.
