A Korean influencer, who was in her 20s, was found dead on the mountainside in Muju County, Korea, in September 2025.

According to local media, Yoon Ji-Ah was a successful influencer with over 300,000 followers on social media.

She had been approached by Choi, the CEO of an IT company, for a partnership, promising to help increase her social media following.

Choi was known in the industry as a big spender and someone who was well-connected.

However, this was a front, as he was actually in quite serious debt.

On the day of the alleged murder, he had reportedly had his house seized due to the mounting debt.

Yoon had also been trying to get out of the partnership with Choi due to his overly controlling ways.

The incident allegedly occurred approximately 30 minutes after Yoon had concluded a live broadcast on her social media.

According to Chosun, Yoon's death was confirmed as "asphyxiation due to neck compression".

Choi allegedly disposed of her body hundreds of kilometres away, and even tried to throw off investigators by making several detours.

However, he was arrested 12 hours after the body was found.

He initially denied his involvement in the murder, but eventually confessed.
