Car & pedestrian accident in Boon Keng: Man, 37, arrested for drink driving, man, 71, taken to hospital

A 37-year-old man was arrested for drink driving on Oct. 3 night after an accident involving a car and a pedestrian at the junction of Serangoon Road and Lavender Street.
A 71-year-old man was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
The incident occurred in Boon Keng at around 9:10pm, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and police said.

The car appeared to be a Mercedes-Benz.
Photos and videos of the aftermath of the accident shared online showed the accident scene where the car apparently hit a traffic light, which was tilted to one side.
SCDF personnel were seen attending to the victim on the grass verge.
Police said investigations are ongoing.
According to Shin Min Daily News, eyewitnesses said the pedestrian's legs appeared to have been badly injured as a result of the collision.
The victim was allegedly thrown a few metres due to the impact.
He was apparently pushing a cart and hold a bird cage when the incident occurred.
A man, believed to have been the driver, appeared daze at the scene and was taken away by police subsequently.
