3 kids sent to M'sia orphanage due to dad's money woes are not sad, grateful they were not separated
They want to enter university and get good jobs to lessen his burden.
Three Malaysian siblings whose father sent them to an orphanage want to study hard so they can repay him when they grow up.
Their father, Huang Guowei, had previously sent them to Jaz Home located in Perak, Malaysia due to financial difficulties.
Kosmo! reported that one of his children, nine, said the three siblings do not feel sad about being sent to the orphanage.
Instead, they feel grateful and have been adjusting well.
Repay good deeds
One of the siblings said: "Over here, we get to make new friends and study together with them.
"Most importantly, my siblings and I are not separated."
The children added: "When we are older, we hope to help our father lessen his burden."
They aim to study hard and enter university so they can get good jobs, they told Kosmo! on Oct. 19.
Financial difficulty
This comes after Huang transferred them from a children's home in Kuala Lumpur.
He could not afford the reduced fee from RM400 (S$122) to RM300 (S$92).
Huang then transferred his children to Jaz Home as it did not charge any fees.
He had been living a simple lifestyle, surviving on a monthly salary of RM2,600 (S$798) as a lorry driver in a Kuala Lumpur construction firm.
Jaz Home's welfare organisation secretary Tan Meng Wah said that if Huang had left them in Kuala Lumpur, their welfare would have been affected.
Huang would not have been able to afford their daily necessities.
Divorce
In addition, Huang divorced his Vietnamese wife, whom he married in 2016.
The court approved their divorce on May 30, 2024, and Huang was granted custody of the three children.
Huang added that prior to the verdict, his ex-wife reportedly asked for their son and gave Huang their two daughters.
Together with her relatives, she allegedly harassed him at his house before the verdict.
However, the court ordered all three children to be given to Huang.
Support
The orphanage previously arranged for psychological counselling for the children.
The chairman of the orphanage has also stated that the orphanage does not prohibit Huang from meeting with or taking his children whenever he wishes.
