Taiwan woman, 60, threatens to kill niece after finding out she was conceived using husband's donated sperm
She harassed her in-laws and doxxed them on social media.
After finding out that her niece was conceived via artificial insemination using her husband's donated sperm, a 60-year-old Taiwanese woman felt wronged as she was not consulted beforehand.
The woman from Nantou, Taiwan, went on a serial tirade on social media to harass her in-laws.
She made posts doxxing them, impersonated her husband to mock her brother-in-law's fertility issues and threatened to kill her niece.
She was sentenced to four months' jail and 40 days in detention.
Insulting posts
The 60-year-old woman's brother-in-law, the younger brother of her husband, suffered from fertility issues, TVBS wrote.
Her husband donated his sperm for them to undergo artificial insemination.
The procedure was successful, and the couple had a child.
27 years later, the 60-year-old found out.
This sent her into a fit of rage, which manifested itself in 16 social media posts made between June last year to March this year.
According to ETtoday, the woman would use anonymous accounts to leave comments on her niece's social media pages, writing things like: "Your mum is so shameless, she slept with your uncle and gave birth to you."
She also impersonated her husband by using his social media account to harass her brother-in-law.
In one post, while pretending to be her husband, she wrote of her brother-in-law: "What a shameless family. You were infertile and couldn't satisfy your own wife. That's why she fell in love with me. Your relationship fell apart and she didn't want to live with you. Now, she's kicking up a fuss about how the child isn't yours."
In another, she wrote as her husband: "My brother is infertile. His wife went to great lengths to ask me to have sex and impregnate her."
She also exposed personal details of her in-laws, such as their names and workplace addresses.
At one point, over a phone call with her brother-in-law, she threatened to go to Taipei to kill her niece.
Enough
Having had enough of her antics, her brother-in-law and his wife decided to go to the police.
The 60-year-old was later convicted by the local court of criminal intimidation, defamation, doxxing and harassment, among others.
As she was unable to come to a settlement with the complainants, she was sentenced to 40 days in detention as well as four months' jail.
The case is subject to appeal, ETtoday wrote.
