M'sia school fatal stabbing: 14-year-old suspect's father 'heartbroken', doesn't know how to face victim's family
He said his son was introverted and didn't expect him to do such a thing.
The father of the 14-year-old student who allegedly stabbed a 16-year-old girl to death at a school in Selangor, Malaysia on Oct. 14 said he is "heartbroken" over the incident.
"I am heartbroken my son did this," The Star reported the father as saying.
The boy reportedly stabbed the victim more than 50 times, The New Straits Times reported.
He was believed to have confessed his feelings for her on the night before the attack, but was rejected.
Father heartbroken
"I know that no matter what I say, it’s useless. No matter what I do, I can’t get their daughter back. I don’t know how to face them,” he told China Press.
The father expressed his disbelief over his son's action, sharing that his son was introverted and didn't talk much.
He recounted that he had sent the boy to school as usual that morning and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
Despite his poor grades at school, the boy did not usually "cause trouble", the father said.
He also acknowledged that his apology was "not enough" for the victim's family.
