Yishun killing: Man, 66, who allegedly fatally stabbed mother of 2, charged with murder
His case will be heard again on Oct. 2.
A 66-year-old man who was arrested after a knife attack at Block 323 Yishun Central on Sep. 24 has been charged with the murder of his neighbour.
Capital charge
The man, Koh Ah Hwee, was handed the capital charge today (Sep. 25) via a field magistrate while in hospital, CNA reported.
He was accused of murdering 30-year-old Nguyen Phuong Tra, a Vietnamese woman, by stabbing her in the chest during the brawl that occurred at about 7.25am on the common corridor of the block's sixth floor.
Nguyen's husband, who attempted to fight off Koh in the attack, was also stabbed and later taken to the hospital.
Police said they found all three individuals lying injured along the corridor when they arrived.
They were taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where Nguyen later died.
If convicted of murder, Koh could be sentenced to death.
His case will be heard again on Oct. 2, according to CNA.
