Thai woman, 60, travels 560km to ex-banker's house to propose after seeing his picture on Facebook
Police intervened.
A 60-year-old woman, Mei, travelled some 560km from Bangkok to Udon Thani to meet a 44-year-old man, Ta.
She arrived at the man's house on Sep. 22.
She had luggage full of clothes, and started talking to Ta about a proposed marriage and having children.
The woman even apparently said that a sperm donation would do.
The former banker, Ta, however, had no idea who this woman was.
According to Khaosod, the two then had a "prolonged standoff" at the front of his house, with Ta refusing to let her in.
The police were eventually called, and Mei left the house to head back to Bangkok.
Ta told Thai media that the woman had come outside his house before in late 2024 and May 2025, but that this was the "worst attempt yet".
Ta says he suspects the woman had come across his pictures from his Facebook page, where he sells puppies.
He says he is genuinely fearful and was unable to sleep after the visit. He pleaded with the woman to "stop bothering him" and asked her family to seek medical help for her.
