M'sia boy, 12, impaled in stomach by bicycle pedal after falling
The boy later had a successful operation.

A 12-year-old boy was impaled in the stomach by a pedal after falling from his bicycle in Baling, a town in the Malaysian state of Kedah on Sep. 26.
Baling Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief said his department received an emergency call at 5:30pm regarding the incident, according to the New Straits Times.
The rescue team found the boy at the location, and in pain when they arrived.
They took about 40 minutes to cut the bicycle pedal using special equipment.
The boy was then sent to the hospital and had an operation that ended at 6:17pm.
"The operation was carried out carefully to prevent bleeding and internal injuries to the boy," the chief said.
