Armani Group said he "passed away peacefully".
Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani has died at the age of 91.
The founder of the fashion house named after himself reportedly passed away peacefully, shared the Armani Group in a statement on Giorgio Armani's Facebook page on Sep. 4.
Widely admired
In its statement, the group said it announced his passing "with infinite sorrow", remembering him as its "creator, founder, and tireless driving force".
Armani, affectionately known by his staff and collaborators as Il Signor Armani, was surrounded by loved ones when he died.
The company noted that Armani remained "indefatigable" until the very end, working on collections and projects in his final days.
Over five decades, he expanded his vision beyond clothing into lifestyle, design, and culture, guided by what the group described as "relentless curiosity" and a rare ability to anticipate the spirit of the times.
Armani was widely admired not only for his meticulous craftsmanship but also for his openness and ability to connect with the public.
"Always mindful of the needs of the community, he has been active on many fronts, especially in support of his beloved Milan," the company said.
He had also been seen cosying up to international celebrities in photos at the Giorgio Armani Women's Fall/Winter 2025-26 show in March 2025.Private funeral to be held

It will be held from Sep. 6 to 7, between 9am and 6pm (Milan time).
