M'sia woman often seen in anime costume falls from 28th floor home, allegedly broke up recently
She had been facing emotional distress.
A woman was found dead at the foot of a condominium in Penang on Sep. 3.
According to New Straits Times, the woman, 34, allegedly fell from the 28th floor of the building.
Police said that according to witness statements, a loud crashing sound was heard at around 9:04pm on the night of Sep. 3.
Astro Awani reported that the woman was dressed in an anime costume resembling Kurumi Tokisaki, a character from the "Date a Live" series, when her body was found.
However, Sin Chew Daily mentioned that this claim has not been confirmed by the police.
The victim was often seen at the condominium lobby dressed in anime costumes, Sinar Harian reported.
The deceased lived on the 28th floor of the condominium, and footprints were found on a table near a sliding window of the bedroom.
Speaking to the media, the police found out through the deceased's mother that she had been facing "emotional distress" after breaking up with her boyfriend.
The case has been classified as a sudden death.
According to Harian Metro, the fire and rescue department received a call at around 12:43am on Sep. 4.
They assisted the police in cleaning up the area, which took about 40 minutes.
"Thorough checks were made in the area to make sure that the area is truly safe and clean," said a representative from the fire and rescue department.
