An elderly Malaysian woman was allegedly taken from her home to withdraw money in a different Malaysia state, before being abandoned on the streets.

Sin Chew Daily reported in an exclusive that on the afternoon of Sep. 3, two young men took the elderly woman, Zhang Ruifang, from her home in Bentong, Pahang.

They took the 72-year-old to a bank in another state to withdraw all her savings amounting to RM40,000 (S$12,195).

Suspicious men and car

When Zhang's family discovered she was missing, the woman's eldest daughter Lin Liqing and her family searched for her.

They also posted on social media to find her.

Searching for her mother

Zhang, who lives alone, was only found a day later on Sep. 4 morning.

She was abandoned on the streets.

She spent a night outside wandering the streets without eating or sleeping, her eldest daughter Lin told Sin Chew Daily.

The daughter filed a police report with the Bentong police station after finding out that her mother was missing.

Zhang was eventually rescued.

The CCTV footage captured her alleged kidnappers' faces.

The neighbour's CCTV also captured the black car that Zhang was taken in.
