A new cheating scandal has hit the internet.

In Singapore.

Again.

A wife, who suspected her husband of being guilty of behaving suspiciously with another woman, has spilled the tea and asked an audience what she should do.

Mysterious account shares receipts

A mysterious account, believed to belong to the wife, shared screenshots of conversations between two parties.

The account also asked if the exchange looked like a normal conversation between friends, or closer to one between friends with benefits.

While the context was not clear, the text conversation suggested a close, transactional relationship between two people, who appeared to be arranging a clandestine meeting – behind the wife’s back.

The messages were sent between 10:17pm and 10:43pm.

The messages in the green text bubbles were asking if the other party was free later to meet up at 1am.

The white text bubbles responded that a “late night service fee” of “$200” will be charged, and subsequently agreed to the early morning meet-up for a “fast game”.

More receipts

The mysterious account also shared more receipts, literally.

The receipts and bank statements were accompanied by a caption suggesting concealment of goods.

The husband also appeared to willingly overpay and spend a lot on the items.

One caption mentioned that he “always say money is tight but found these crazy high amounts in his statements”, indicating he was apparently forking out more money than necessary.

One bank statement transaction suggested a fund transfer or payment of “$9,131.99”, which hinted at an overpayment.

Wife catches husband

A video was subsequently uploaded online showing what really went down.

A man was seen approaching a woman at a secluded corridor.

He then handed her a gift bag.

They both hugged.

Responses

The dribs and drabs of information shared online failed to stifle enthusiasm among online users, especially after watching “Part 3” video from the mysterious account.

Some took to social media to highlight the mysterious account’s content, while chiming in with their hot and cold takes.

Others condemned cheating right off the bat, while a number took aim at the need to share information devoid of more context.

The confrontation

A clip of a confrontation also appeared online.

A woman, who appeared to be the wife, confronted a man and referred to him as her “husband”.

The wife, berating him, continued: “I supported you. And you do this to me?”

The husband then said he would explain.

But the wife cut him off and shouted: “Who is she?”

The husband tried to explain that the woman in the black tank top was “just a friend” and she was helping to keep “some stuff” for him.

The woman in black then said: “There is really nothing going on, I can show you.”

However, she got cut off.

The wife cut in: “You shut up! I’m talking with my husband!”

More revealed

Another man then showed up with a cart of parcels and said he was the husband of the woman who accepted the gift bag.

At this point, there was a plot twist.

The wife looked on and at the parcels in disbelief, trying to fathom the situation unfolding before her.

She then exclaimed: “OMG you paid S$40 for this?”

She continued: “And S$300 for this?”

Husband didn’t cheat, he was guilty of overpaying, nonetheless

As with many things on the internet, there was more than meets the eye,

The husband, it turns out, did not cheat.

He was simply guilty of overpaying and afraid his wife would nag at him when she found out.

The husband then apologised:: “I’m sorry. I just didn’t want you to find out I’ve been paying a lot for all this... so I put them here...”

He got interrupted by his wife, who said: “So you’re not cheating? You’re overpaying?”

The husband admitted: “Yes, I’m... guilty.”
