A funeral services provider in Singapore is staying on point and on brand.

Ang Chin Moh Funeral Directors recently put up a photo on Facebook on Jul 22 showing its tagline on its company van.

It read: "Vaping Kills. It means we have to pick you up!"

The post's caption read:

If we pick you up for your ride, it is your last trip!

This message hits even harder today, especially with the growing concern over drug-laced vapes — Kpods — a dangerous trend in Singapore already claiming young lives.

At Ang Chin Moh Funeral Directors, we witness all too often the consequences of bad choices. Our duty is to honour lives lost, but our hope is to see fewer lives cut short.

If this bumper sticker makes you pause, reflect, or start a conversation — then our message has got to you.

Think twice. Choose life.

Using dark humour

Ang Ziqian, the managing director of the company, told Shin Min Daily News that the messaging is intended to warn the public of the related dangers of vaping through dark humour.

Ang said: "Our duty is to accompany the deceased on their final journey, but we hope to see fewer lives lost prematurely, so we hope to raise more awareness among the public through our voices."

Tagline up since August 2024

He pointed out that the company pasted this warning message on its vehicles since August 2024.

A Facebook post that month with a photo of a van with the tagline said: "Vaping kills. If you don’t stop, we might receive a call to pick you up sooner than you expect!"

The post added: "At Ang Chin Moh Funeral Directors, we are committed to your well-being — mostly because we rather not see you in the back of our hearse."

"Don't let us drive you to your final destination! Steer your own good health instead."

As this topic of vaping and Kpod abuse has been making the rounds in recent days, the latest tagline has attracted more attention, Shin Min reported.

Ang added: “In fact, we have done similar things in 2021 and 2022, including urging people to get the Covid-19 vaccine and drive safely.”

Responses

Online commenters found the post funny and pointed out that smoking in general also kills, as does the consumption of other vices.
