A 42-year-old woman in Taiwan who had a restraining order against her husband was allegedly killed by the man right after a family court hearing.

The 46-year-old man, surnamed Hsieh, killed both his wife, Chang, and her 33-year-old sister before stabbing the two to death with a knife and a metal baton on Jul. 7.

Hsieh has a history of domestic abuse and had already broken the conditions of the restraining order before the murder, reported Taipei Times.

Violated restraining order

Chang and Hsieh had been married for several years and had two daughters together.

Chang had applied for a restraining order against Hsieh in May after multiple domestic abuse incidents.

Hsieh, who was unemployed, had reportedly went back to his hometown in Pingtung County following the restraining order.

Investigations revealed that he returned to New Taipei for a court hearing and visited Chang's residence to take his belonging against the restraining order's condition.

There, he got into an argument with Chang and began shouting and throwing things at her.

Chang called the police, and Hsieh was arrested for breaking the conditions of the restraining order.

However, he was later released on bail.

Day of murder

On Jul. 7, the pair appeared in family court for a hearing.

Chang and her sister returned home by scooter afterwards, not knowing Hsieh was following them.

He reportedly rammed his car into their scooter and came out with a knife and a metal baton to stab them to death.

Both sisters succumbed to their injuries.

Video footage

The incident was recorded on the dashboard camera of a nearby vehicle, and the video later circulated online.

The video showed Hsieh first stabbing the younger sister while Chang tried to push Hsieh away.

Hsieh then stabbed Chang several times before passers-by stopped to intervene.

He then fled the scene.

Posted about murders on Facebook

Hsieh later posted on Facebook that he had killed his wife and her sister.

He also gave a“friendly heads-up” to his brother-in-law to go to the hospital, adding “I’ve already killed your wife.”

He also posted saying that “the police are following me, they’re going to get me.”

Hsieh later turned himself in at the Shengang Police Station.

Aftermath

Police recovered a large kitchen knife with "clear traces of blood" and a small metal baton along the highway.

A post-mortem examination was conducted on the two women’s bodies.

Their father was reportedly so upset he could not walk without being held up and told reporters:

“That heartless man took both of my daughters from me, what am I supposed to do now?”

A full coroner's report on the exact cause of death is expected to be released on Jul. 9.
