Man in Taiwan gets into car accident, proceeds to meditate on side of road

A vehicular accident occurred in Taiwan on Jul. 7, along the National Freeway 6 in Nantou County, Taiwan — and something unusual happened to one of the drivers.

According to ETtoday, a 32-year-old man, surnamed Huang, was driving a sports utility vehicle (SUV) along the highway when he allegedly made a mistake and rear-ended a silver sedan in front of him.

After the accident at 1:01pm, Huang suddenly sat down along the road shoulder to meditate.

Police and firefighters were sent to the scene

The National Highway Police Bureau was alerted to the accident and immediately deployed police and firefighters to the scene.

Upon arriving, they observed that the SUV had crashed through the outer railing of the road and its front wheels in the air.

The SUV was badly damaged and was leaning against the railing, facing the road.

The silver sedan was located on the inside lane not far away, with its rear severely dented and damaged.

Huang suffered minor injuries, while the 62-year-old driver of the silver sedan, surnamed Xu, was not injured.

Huang proceeded to meditate at the side of the road

In the aftermath of the crash, Huang suddenly sat cross-legged at the side of the road and meditated.

According to ETtoday, when he was later questioned by firefighters, Huang was unable to converse properly with them and gave answers that were irrelevant.

He was apparently in a poor mental state.

After initial treatment for his wounds, Huang was sent to Puli Christian Hospital for further treatment.

The police are currently still investigating the cause of the accident.
