Man, 32, promised to pay girl, 15, S$700 for sex, but ran away after deed at Woodlands car park, got her pregnant & she had abortion

In August 2023, a man in Singapore, then 32, offered a girl, then 15, S$700 for sex after meeting her online and finding out she needed money, had sex with her at a multi-storey car park, did not pay her, got her pregnant, and she ended up having an abortion.

For his crimes, the man, Leong Alyu, now aged 34, faced three charges of sexual penetration of a minor above 14 but below 16 years of age, and one count of fraud, Lianhe Zaobao reported.

On Jul. 7, 2025, he was sentenced to two years and 10 months in jail after pleading guilty to two of the charges, with the remaining charges taken into consideration for his sentencing.

Although the victim has turned 16, a gag order was placed on her identity as she was 15 when Leong committed his offences.

Met on Heymandi app

According to court documents seen by Zaobao, Leong met the girl in August 2023 on the dating app Heymandi.

The two began chatting and later moved the conversation to the Telegram messaging platform.

During this period, the defendant did not reveal his real name to the girl and only referred to himself as "Z".

Girl needed money

During their conversation, Leong learned that the girl was 15 years old, her family was in financial difficulties, and she needed money urgently.

The man then propositioned the girl, offering her S$700 for having sex with him.

As she was in urgent need of money, the girl accepted Leong's offer but asked him to wear a condom.

Met at multi-storey car park

In the early hours of Aug. 26, 2023, Leong and the girl met at a multi-storey car park near Block 786A Woodlands Drive 60.

Leong told the girl he could not have sex with her in his home as his girlfriend was there.

The girl wanted to leave, but the man persuaded her to stay and promised to pay her S$700.

He then took her to a stairwell of the multi-storey car park, kissed her, and had sex with her without a condom.

Leong ran away

During court proceedings, it was revealed that after finishing the deed, Leong put on his pants and ran all the way back to his home at Block 777 Woodlands Crescent, reported Zaobao.

When the girl tried to contact Leong afterwards, she found out that she had been blocked.

Leong subsequently deleted the chat history between them and did not pay the girl the promised sum of S$700.

Girl underwent abortion

Two months after their meeting, the girl went to the hospital for a check-up and found out that she was pregnant.

She later chose to have an abortion.

A DNA test by the Health Sciences Authority indicated that the foetus' biological father was very likely to be Leong.

Medical staff at the hospital alerted the police.

Leong was arrested on Nov. 2, 2023, and charged in court on Mar. 5, 2025.

He has not made any compensation so far.
