A TikTok video on Jul. 6 showed the singer wiping away tears as the crowd cheered her on, many waving pink light sticks in support.
This performance was significant for fans who have waited years to see her live.
Among them was actor Romeo Tan, who is a long-time fan of the Japanese singer.
Speaking to Mothership, Tan shared that he had been following Hamasaki since his schooling days.
He said:
"Every time when I am down, when I feel stressed over school work, I will listen to her song. Whenever I have the chance to visit Japan, I will try to buy her albums or even get concert tickets. It's been about 20 years. And finally, I get to see her first full concert live."
