According to IFRC, nearly 190,000 homes have been flooded, damaged, or destroyed, with at least 325 people reported dead or missing.
While immediate emergency aid was provided, Chin's visit highlights that the recovery process is far from over.

Speaking to Mothership, the actress shared that many homes remain ill-equipped to face the next typhoon season.
"After the emergency recovery work last year, the visit also [aims to] shine awareness that recovery work is still necessary and ongoing," she said.
Besides disaster-hit areas, Chin also visited various villages in Vietnam under World Vision’s child sponsorship programme.

She witnessed firsthand the contrasting conditions between areas just beginning to receive aid and those that have been supported over the last 16 years.
"[Being on the ground] allowed us to see firsthand the pressing needs of the community," she said.
Chin's visit is part of ongoing efforts by World Vision to raise awareness and garner continued support for vulnerable communities across the region.
