The chef said he didn't see any PDA though.

Newly-single singer Katy Perry, 40, was spotted on a date with former Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, 53, on Jul. 28 in Montreal.

Went for a stroll before going for dinner
According to TMZ, the two started their date with a stroll in Montreal's Mount Royal Park, spending about an hour and a half there before heading to dinner.
The two were then spotted enjoying a meal together at Le Violon, a restaurant in Montreal.
In the footage obtained by TMZ, the two could be seen chatting with one another, with Perry looking attentively at Trudeau.
"Just two friends enjoying a meal"
In an interview with TMZ, Danny Smiles, the co-owner and co-executive chef of the restaurant, said that though the two looked good together, there was no public display of affection (PDA) and he did not get a sense of any romantic connection between the two.
Smiles said Perry and Trudeau were just "two friends enjoying a meal", adding that the two had ordered the chef's tasting menu.
The two spent hours in the restaurant, with Trudeau picking up the tab at the end of their dinner.
Perry and Trudeau were the perfect guests and "had a really good time", according to Smiles.
He added that the two were "so polite, so nice", super chill", and "very receptive to servers".
After dinner, the two proceeded to the terrace of Taverne Atlantic to have some drinks.
Katy Perry split from Orlando Bloom a month ago
According to BBC, it was confirmed on Jul. 3 that Perry had split from 48-year-old actor Orlando Bloom.
The two had been in an on-and-off relationship since 2016 and have a four-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.
Perry and Bloom previously split in 2017 but got back together shortly afterwards.
They got engaged on Valentine's Day in 2019.
In a joint statement issued to U.S. media outlets, representatives for the two said that the two have decided to shift their relationship "to focus on co-parenting" and "will continue to be seen together as a family", as their shared priority is raising Daisy with "love, stability and mutual respect".
Trudeau is currently also single, after separating from his wife in 2023.
The two were married for 18 years and have three children together.
