Tanjong Katong sinkhole opens at 5pm on Saturday, 4D number '7217' sold out by 8:30pm for next day's draw

People in Singapore sure have a knack for gambling.

The 4D number "7217" for the next day's draw was sold out on Saturday, Jul. 26 by about 8:30pm.

This was after a sinkhole swallowed a car in the Tanjong Katong area at about 5pm that day.

The car bore the "7217" registration plate number.

A cursory check on the Singapore Pools website revealed that the number for the Sunday draw was sold out by 8:30pm on Saturday.

"7217" didn't win on Saturday or Sunday

The "7217" number was not drawn on both Saturday or Sunday.

The top prize number on Sunday was "7280".

Sales for each 4D draw closes at 6pm on the draw day.

Female driver in car

It was previously reported that the female driver in the car was rescued by workers and taken conscious to Raffles Hospital.

She could walk, but had shoulder pain and was undergoing check-ups at the hospital.

National water agency PUB said it was in touch with her to provide “the necessary support”.
