Thai man, 61, kills 5 in Or Tor Kor market in Bangkok before shooting himself

At least six people have died after a shooting incident by a gunman in Or Tor Kor market, located in the Bang Sue district of Bangkok, Thailand.

Reuters reported that at least six had died, while AFP reported that four security guards were among those who were killed.

Bangkok Post reported that a 61-year-old man had killed five people before shooting himself.

"Police are investigating the motive. So far it's a mass shooting," Worapat Sukthai, deputy police chief of Bangkok's Bang Sue district where the incident took place, told AFP.

He added that the suspect had died by suicide.

The area, and the nearby Chatuchak district, is a popular shopping spot with both locals and tourists.

The police are investigating, including the possibility that the suspect was connected to the ongoing Thailand-Cambodia border conflict.
