Heritage brand Ka-Soh, famous for its thick and rich Cantonese-style fish soup, will be shutting its doors for good with the closure of their last outlet in Greenwood Avenue.

In a Facebook post on Jul. 26, the restaurant said it would not be renewing its lease once it expires.

Their last day of operations will be on Sep. 28, 2025.

"We are deeply grateful to loyal customers who have been with us for decades (and generations) and followed us from Chin Chew Street, then to Amoy and Outram and finally in Greenwood," the post read.

Previous closures

Ka-Soh had been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand before.

The Michelin Bib Gourmand award recognises restaurants that offer good food at affordable prices, where the menu is priced at a maximum of S$45.

The business is run by the third-generation owners.

The restaurant, which has 86 years of history, closed its outlet in Outram in June 2022 due to manpower woes and rising operational costs.

Previously, Ka-Soh's sister eatery, Swee Kee Eating House at Amoy Street, closed its doors in May 2021, citing Covid-19 impacts as the reason.
