Water supply disrupted for 4.5 hours after Tanjong Katong sinkhole incident, residents given water bags
The sinkhole occurred adjacent to an existing PUB worksite.
Following the sinkhole incident at Tanjong Katong Road South on the late afternoon of Jul. 26, national water agency PUB have isolated the affected water mains as part of the incident response.

In an update on Facebook at 11:45am on Jul. 27, PUB said the water supply was disrupted for about 4.5 hours.
PUB said they received feedback from 18 households in the vicinity.Water supply was fully restored by 2:30am on Jul. 27, PUB added.
Water wagons were deployed on-site, and affected residents were given water bags.
Pictures showed some residents queuing up to receive water bags.
Two water mains damaged
In an earlier update, PUB said that two water mains were damaged in the incident.
The sinkhole occurred at approximately 5pm at the junction of Tanjong Katong Road and Mountbatten Road, affecting two lanes of the road.
The incident took place adjacent to an existing PUB worksite.
One vehicle fell into the sinkhole.
The driver was rescued by on-site workers and was later conveyed to Raffles Hospital.
In a Facebook post on Jul. 27, PUB said that they appreciated the quick actions by the workers and added that they are in touch with the affected driver to provide the necessary support.
