He kicked another car and caused a dent.
A Singaporean driver who was involved in a viral road rage incident in Johor has been arrested by the Malaysian police.
The case came to light when a Facebook user by the name of Vicky Sing uploaded a video of the incident on Jun. 7, 2025, involving the driver of a Singapore-registered car.
The confrontation took place along Jalan Sutera Tanjung 8/4 at Taman Sutera Utama in Skudai, Johor.
Sing shared that she had been travelling with her boyfriend, who was commandeering the car at the time.
The video shows the driver kicking the car Sing was in.
Sing also uploaded a photograph of the resultant dent.
The couple later made a police report at Taman Ungku Tun Aminah Police Station.
Malaysia police statement
According to a Facebook post by the Malaysian police, they received the police report around 3pm on Jun. 7.
A 40-year-old Singaporean driver of a Singapore-registered Toyota Altis was arrested on Jun. 8 at about 6:20pm.
The man was apprehended in the Johor Bahru area, and several items were seized.
Checks revealed that he has no criminal record, and the urine screening test was negative.
The man is being investigated for committing mischief and using words or gestures intended to insult the modesty of a person.
"The police urge members of the public who have any information related to the case to contact and provide information to the Johor Bahru Utara District Police Headquarters at 07-5563122," the statement read.
According to China Press, he was brought to the Johor Bahru Court on Jun. 9 for the remand application process.
Wearing a purple detention outfit and black slip-on shoes, the man reportedly covered his face with his right hand when he spotted the media crew outside the court.
Altercation
According to Sing, the couple was caught in a congested road.
There was a car in front of them that was apparently driving haltingly and stopping repeatedly.
Many vehicles were honking at the car, including the couple, the post read.
In a police report, the couple said they had noticed a Toyota Altis behind them that was constantly honking at them.
Soon after, however, the Singapore-registered car then drove up to their side, and the driver apparently berated them and asked them why they had not moved forward.
According to Sing, her boyfriend then explained to the driver of the Singapore car that there was another car in front of them.
Sing claimed that the driver next replied: "Don't think you're so great just cause you drive a BMW".
Sing said that the driver exited his car to confront her boyfriend, and used his body to hit him, as well as spit on him.
Sing added that her boyfriend later told the driver that they could go to the police station together to "settle" their conflict.
The driver of the Singapore car then flew into a rage and started kicking their car, causing a dent.
