Former Japanese adult film actress Sola Aoi, 44, talks about her sons being bullied for her past
She had argued that it is not for anyone else to decide whether her children are pitiful or not.

Japanese actress Sola Aoi, 44, has spoken up about her sons being bullied because of her experience working in the adult video (AV) industry.
Pornographic films are known as "adult films" in Japan, also known as adaruto bideo.
According to Wikipedia, Aoi is a former AV idol who has acted in more than 600 adult films from 2002 to 2011.

Considered one of the biggest AV idols of the 2000s, her popularity from AV films helped her gain celebrity stardom both locally and internationally.
She then retired in 2017, marrying Japanese artist DJ Non in 2018 and has since been focused on raising her twin boys.
According to her Instagram's description, she is also now the founder of a skincare company, Illumirise and an official ambassador for the beauty company Peec.

Aoi is speaking up for her kids
Yet despite having long retired from the AV industry, according to 8 Days, Aoi shares that her children have been made fun of at school because of her.
They have received insults including "Your mom was an AV actress, how pitiful," and "Children of someone like her can never be happy."
She had argued that it is not for anyone else to decide whether her children are pitiful or not.
Aoi has come to terms with these comments, and said what truly matters is her sons understand her love for them.

Prejudice against women in the pornography industry
Prejudice against women who worked in the pornography industry has been a topic discussed in Japan.
The topic was touched upon in Japanese films like "The Lowlife" and "Call Me Chihiro".
Women like Aoi, even after retiring from the industry, continue to face stigma from having worked in the porn industry.
"The Lowlife", for example, looks at the daily struggles of three AV actresses.
According to Variety, "The Lowlife" is not concerned with showcasing whether pornography is right or wrong.
Instead, it features women who’ve picked this uncommon industry and who then have to face the good and bad that come with it.
