Woman pillion rider, 45, dies after accident near Woodlands Checkpoint, police investigating

A 45-year-old woman died after an accident involving a motorcycle and two other cars on an expressway near Woodlands Checkpoint.

The incident took place on the evening of Jun. 14.

A video posted on a land checkpoints Facebook group showed the aftermath of the accident.

A damaged motorcycle is seen lying on its side, with two cars, one black and one white, on the side of the road. The white car's bumper appears to be visibly damaged.

SCDF paramedics can been seen tending to a person in the middle lane, while two officers stand on the side of the road over what appears to be a body covered by a white sheet.

Responding to queries from Mothership, SCDF said they were alerted to a road traffic accident along BKE towards Woodlands Checkpoint after Woodlands Avenue 3 exit.

They conveyed one person to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, while another person was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.

The police told Mothership that a 37-year-old male motorcyclist was conveyed conscious to the hospital while his 45-year-old female pillion rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Police investigations are ongoing.
