Police inspect suspicious-looking black bag with wires on Stirling Road in downpour, turns out to be PMD battery
Police investigations are ongoing.

A Xiaohongshu user came across a disconcerting object in the middle of Stirling Road, in the wee hours of the morning on May 11, 2025.
In a video uploaded by the user, a black bag could be seen right smack in the centre of the road.
Inside the bag was a blue object, with wires sticking out.
The user described it as a "very ordinary schoolbag", but kept their distance from the suspicious-looking object:

A passerby could also be seen taking a rather close peek at the object, before backing off:

In response to Mothership's queries, police said they were alerted to the object at around 2:35am, and arrived on the scene soon after.
Heavy downpour
The user noted that the officers approached the object without protective equipment.
Five officers could be seen in the video gathering around to inspect it.
The officers then put a blue police tent over the object, just as it began to rain heavily:

The tent appeared to be later removed.
As the rain became heavier, the object could even be seen near-submerged in the rainwater.
It then started to slowly float down the road due to the current:

Police continued their work despite the torrential downpour.
The object was eventually established to be a battery from a personal mobility device.
Police investigations are ongoing.
The police could be seen utterly drenched as they folded up the tent they were using to cover the bag and the PMD battery:

"The Police take security threats seriously and will not hesitate to take action against those who intentionally cause public alarm," they added.
