New PAP branches are in the works in Punggol, Tampines, Tengah, and more, reported The Straits Times.
This comes in the wake of the recent General Election, which saw changes to Singapore's electoral map.
Here are the new PAP branches that we know of so far:
Punggol GRC
In Punggol, Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong has begun Meet-the-People Sessions (MPS) at Block 402 Northshore Drive.
A new PAP branch will be set up there, ST reported.
Pasir-Ris Changi GRC
Sharael Taha, Member of Parliament (MP) for Pasir Ris-Changi, announced that the team is in the midst of setting up a new branch.
Tampines GRC
David Neo, MP for Tampines GRC, mentioned a "new fifth division" in several Facebook posts.
Currently, there are four branches in Tampines GRC: Tampines North, Tampines West, Tampines Central, and Tampines East.
Sembawang GRC
In a May 10 Facebook post, Minister for Health and Sembawang MP Ong Ye Kung said he expects "major developments and population growth" in Canberra.
There will hence be a new division carved out from the former Canberra division, called Naval Base. It will be headed by MP Ng Shi Xuan.
The other four branches — Admiralty, Woodlands, Sembawang Central, and Canberra — will be chaired by Vikram Nair, Mariam Jaafar, Ong, and Gabriel Lam respectively.
Chua Chu Kang GRC
Over at Chua Chu Kang, newly-elected MP Choo Pei Ling announced a new branch at Tengah.
She will begin her MPS at Blk 236B Tengah Garden Walk on May 13.
Ang Mo Kio GRC
Finally, at Ang Mo Kio GRC, Jasmin Lau said that the area she's overseeing has been renamed from Jalan Kayu to Seletar-Serangoon.
"Exact details of the residential areas I cover will be made known very soon," she said in a May 6 Facebook post.
Mothership has reached out to the PAP for comment.
