A man in Thailand killed his girlfriend out of spite after a series of arguments.
They had been quarrelling during their vacation on an island between May 6 and May 10.
According to Khaosod, their arguments continued even after they returned from the trip.
The man claimed that his girlfriend provoked him during the conflict and said "kill me if you have the guts to do so."
He then tried to strangle his girlfriend with his hands. While the girlfriend was able to free herself, he then proceeded to use a phone cable to strangle her, Sin Chew reported.
After killing his girlfriend, the man turned on the aircon in his condo unit to slow down the decomposition of the body.
He said he wanted to take his own life but ultimately didn't dare to go through with it.
He ran away on the evening of May 10 but was quickly arrested by the police at around 7pm.
