NSL track point fault causes delay between Yishun & Sembawang MRT stations

North-South Line commuters experienced delays in their journey after a track point fault between Yishun and Sembawang stations on May 11.

SMRT first posted to Facebook about the track point fault at 2:24pm, telling commuters to expect an additional 10 minutes in travel time between Yishun and Sembawang.

SMRT said that free regular bus service is available between Yishun and Woodlands.

SMRT went on to provide six more similar updates at 2:38pm, 2:54pm, 3:10pm, 3:22pm, 3:37pm and 3:52pm.

Passengers travelling towards Orchard and Marin South Pier were later urged, from 3:22pm onwards, to take the Thomson East Coast line at Woodlands.

"We apologise for the delay to your journey," SMRT said.

Large crowds were seen at the bus stop outside Yishun MRT station, where free regular bus services were available between Yishun and Woodlands:
