Malaysia and Singapore are bound by "enduring ties of kith and kin", he said.
Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim congratulated the Secretary-General of People's Action Party (PAP), Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, on leading the party to victory.
The PAP secured 65.7 per cent of the total valid vote share overall, a landslide victory.
"I wish you and your team continued success as you carry forward the responsibilities of leadership in this new term," Anwar said in a Facebook post on May 4.
Ties of Malaysia and Singapore
Anwar also penned his thoughts on how the "prosperity and security of Malaysia and Singapore are indivisible".
The two countries are bound not only by geography, but by "enduring ties of kith and kin", he said.
He also highlighted the Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) as an example of what neighbours can achieve with "conviction and shared purpose".
"As we look to the future, our two countries are building a habit of deep collaboration at all levels – a vital foundation as we navigate profound challenges to global order and international trade."
