Ian Fang underage sex case: Victim's mum says ex-actor called repeatedly to say, 'I love you', while crying
The police answered Fang's call once when they were called to the home.
The mother of the girl, who former Mediacorp actor Ian Fang had sex with before she turned 16, has spoken to 8world about what she had to go through.
Fang, 35, whose name is Fang Weijie, was given 40 months' jail after he pleaded guilty on May 19 to having sex with a girl before she turned 16.
Fang was 34 when the pair met at an entertainment event in May 2024.
At the time of the offences, Fang was an acting teacher at a child modelling school with students aged four to 14.
The victim has spoken about how Fang wooed her.
Made multiple calls to family
According to the mother, after Fang was arrested and when he was out on bail in 2024, he often bombarded the family with anonymous phone calls in the middle of the night.
This kept the family on edge and they even reported the matter to the police.
Details were revealed by the girl's mother who chose to remain anonymous.
Two months of harassment
The girl's mother said she called the police on Aug. 3, 2024 and Fang was arrested the next day.
He was then released on bail after he was detained for a day.
The following two months were a nightmare for the victim's family.
The mother said Fang kept using a number without caller ID to call her child from 12am to 2am daily.
She said: "We called the police once a week. We made many police reports."
Played music
Fang apparently also used different numbers, sometimes calling more than 10 times each night.
"If we answered, he would play music, such as "The Moon Represents My Heart"," she said. "He would also cry and say, "I love you", over the phone. We have recorded these."
Police heard harassment
On one occasion, the police were called to the home.
When the phone rang and the police answered, Fang was on the other end saying, "I love you", unaware that the police were listening in.
His antics wore out the family physically and emotionally.
The mother said there was nothing they could do except to lodge police reports.
Mum lost weight, cannot sleep
The mother claimed that she lost 10kg as a result of the stress and requires medication to fall asleep.
Details of the case previously reported that between Sep. 22 and 27, 2024, Fang made multiple calls to the family, including making 18 calls to the victim in one day on Sep. 22.
As he knew he was not supposed to contact the victim, he allegedly took to social media to post messages directed at the girl.
In one of his posts on Sep. 10, 2024, he wrote: “There are so many songs I want to sing to you... so many things I want to say.”
He also wrote: “If I lent you my brain for an hour, you will know how painful my life is every day.”
