Final count: WP wins Aljunied GRC with 59.68% of votes
A fourth victory for the WP in Aljunied GRC.
With a winning percentage of 59.68 per cent, the Workers' Party (WP) won Aljunied GRC for the fourth time in a row.
Here are the elected members of parliament (MPs) for Aljunied GRC from WP:
- WP secretary-general Pritam Singh
- WP chair Sylvia Lim
- Gerald Giam
- Fadli Fawzi
- Kenneth Tiong
Both Singh and Lim had served as MPs for Aljunied GRC for three terms since 2011.
Giam had served as an MP for one term since 2020, whereas Fadli and Tiong are new faces.
Similar results to GE2020
According to the returning officer Han Kok Juan, the People's Action Party (PAP) scored 40.32 per cent of the votes cast.
There were 132,110 votes cast, with 78,847 for WP and 53,263 for PAP.
There were also 1,341 rejected votes.
The PAP slate for Aljunied GRC consists of:
- Adrian Ang
- Chan Hui Yuh
- Daniel Liu
- Dr Faisal Abdul Aziz
- Jagathishwaran Rajo
In 2020 general election, the WP slate for Aljunied GRC won 59.93 per cent of the vote.
PAP scored 40.07 per cent.
At the time, the WP slate comprised Leon Perera and Muhammad Faisal Manap, in addition to Singh, Lim, and Giam.
Perera resigned from both his parliamentary and party positions with WP due to untruthfulness over the extramarital affair with then-fellow WP member Nicole Seah.
