Progress Singapore Party secretary general Leong Mun Wai spoke to the media following the sample count results of the 2025 General Election.

Leong said that the results are "very shocking" to them but as the "people have spoken", they will study the results "seriously and humbly" to reconsider how they can "gain further trust from the people".

Leong contested West Coast-Jurong West GRC with his team consisting of chairman Tan Cheng Bock, Hazel Poa, Sumarleki Amjah, and Sani Ismail.

According to the Elections Department (ELD) the People's Action Party (PAP) is ahead of the Progress Singapore Party (PSP) with 61 per cent of votes.

The ELD has cautioned that the sample count could be different from the actual result as counting is still in progress.

"We may need to review our strategy and the way we do things. We may need to regroup ourselves so that we can fight another day," Leong said.

He also expressed gratitude to their supporters and assured Singaporeans that they will continue to work hard.

"We thank all the Singaporeans, especially voters in the constituencies that we have contested in for their support, and we can assure them that we'll continue to work hard to find out their needs and continue to serve Singapore."

Leong was a Non-Constituency Member of Parliament of the 14th Parliament of Singapore along with fellow PSP member Hazel Poa but it is likely that they will be losing their seats this time round.
