TransCab on top of BMW in TPE chain collision: Taxi driver, 59, woman, 31, sent to hospital
The collision involved a taxi, two cars, and four trucks.
A chain collision involving a taxi, two cars, and four trucks along the Tampines Expressway (TPE) on Apr. 16 resulted in a 59-year-old taxi driver and a 31-year-old woman being conveyed conscious to hospital.
The accident occurred after the Punggol Road exit in the direction of Seletar Expressway (SLE).
The police said they were alerted to the incident at about 11:05am on Wednesday.
The two people were taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said.
Another person, who was assessed for minor injuries, declined to be taken to hospital.
Photos posted on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook group on Apr. 17 showed a TransCab taxi and a BMW sandwiched between two trucks.
The taxi landed on top of the white BMW.The bonnet of the white car was damaged.
The boot and left rear door of the taxi was also damaged.
Police said investigations are ongoing.
The TransCab taxi operator said there were no passengers at the time of the accident.
It said it is in contact with the driver’s wife and understand that he is in stable condition.
