S'porean, 32, cheated 31 'sugar babies' as young as 13 into sending nude pics & having sex

Over the course of three years, a Singaporean business analyst exploited and sexually assaulted 31 girls and young women, under the ploy of being a "sugar daddy".

The youngest victim was just 13.

Hee Lic Yuan, 32, was sentenced to 81 months' jail and six strokes of the cane for his crimes on Apr. 16.

He pleaded guilty to 15 charges, with another 44 taken into consideration for sentencing.

Modus operandi

Before 2020, Hee paid for nude photos and sexual services with girls and young women aged between 16 and 20.

He also took voyeuristic photos at his workplace, on public transport, and from his bedroom window.

But in 2020, he devised a plan to "scam" females to obtain nude pics and sexual services without paying for them.

He set up social media accounts on Instagram and TikTok, and would message girls and women.

He'd pretend he was a wealthy person looking for a sugar baby, and offer to pay them for explicit photos and videos, quoting them a price for each item.

But he later reneged on his promises.

Many of the females he singled out were also minors, as young as 13 years old. Hee knew this, but approached them anyway.

Exploited, threatened girls

In some of the cases, Hee's requests started out more innocuous, asking the victims to send photos of their armpits and semi-naked bodies.

But the degree of sexual exposure gradually escalated to fully nude photos and videos.

Sometimes, he'd request a video call, and record these without the victim's knowledge.

Other times, he'd send photos or videos of females in sexually explicit positions, and ask the victim to replicate them.

When the girl or young woman became uncomfortable with the requests, or if she asked to end the agreement, he would refuse to pay her unless she continued.

On several occasions, he also threatened to leak the victim's nude pics or even rape them.

He would act in the same vein, escalating his requests and refusing to pay unless she acquiesced, if the victim asked for her payment.

But when the agreed-on payment date finally arrived, he would reveal that the girl or young woman had been scammed.

Sexually assaulted girls

With several of his "sugar babies", he also offered to pay for sexual services.

He promised one girl, aged 15 to 16 at the time of the offence, S$350 for sexual services.

But he later refused to pay her the full amount.

With another girl, also aged 15, he offered her S$4,000 for her to go to his house and perform several sexual services on him.

He said the first session would be an unpaid "trial", but promised to pay for subsequent sessions.

This was after promising her S$3,500 for a number of nude pics and videos beforehand.

Hee also recorded the session, knowing that she was a minor at the time.

Later, he asked for a threesome with her and another man. When the girl refused, he threatened not to pay her at all.

She then called the police.

"Highly premeditated"

Deputy Public Prosecutor Tan Jing Min called for at least 100 to 107 months' jail, with seven to nine strokes of the cane.

She said he "deliberately targeted young female victims" in a "highly premeditated" fashion.

He also used verbal aggression and intimidation against his victims, even threatening to rape one of the victims, she said.

"The level of criminality he has exhibited cannot be understated."

In total, the prosecution proceeded with 15 charges, involving 11 victims aged 13 to 20.

The charges include sexual penetration of minors, communicating for the purpose of obtaining sexual services, producing child abuse material, exploitative sexual communication with minors, threatening to distribute intimate images of victims, and obtaining services fraudulently.
