22 people taken to hospital after multi-vehicle collision along AYE
The incident occurred along the Ayer Rajah Expressway towards the Central Expressway (CTE).
22 people were sent to the hospital following a multi-vehicle collision along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) on Apr. 17.
Videos shared on the Complaint Singapore Facebook page showed several vehicles, including buses and motorcycles, damaged following the incident.
In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it was alerted to the scene at around 7:55am.
It had occurred on the first lane towards the Central Expressway (CTE) before the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) exit.
Collision involved buses, van, lorry and motorcycles
In one clip, two stationary Causeway Link buses could be seen on the first lane while one SCDF officer directed traffic on the second lane.
The windscreen of one of the buses was visibly damaged, and the rear part of the bus in front of it was also dented.
The camera then panned to show that the bus in front had collided into the back of a van, which had separately collided head-on with a lorry.
Several people were spotted sitting on the road near the two vehicles, with an SCDF ambulance parked in front of the row of people.
