GE2025: PSP's Tan Cheng Bock, 84, wears 'Tan Cheng Bock for West Coast' cap

Progress Singapore Party (PSP) chairman Tan Cheng Bock was seen in a "Tan Cheng Bock for West Coast" cap while at Bishan North Shopping Mall on Apr. 17, 2025.

Speaking to the media, Tan joked: "You think I should stand? I'm going to be 58 years old in a couple of days."

Tan is 84 years old.

He added:

"But if the spirit is strong, you must stand up. And for us, people of my age, if they can do something for the country, they must continue to give what they know back to the country"

"So, although I'm actually going to be 85 soon, in a couple of days, I will be able to contribute and I still think that I can contribute, and I will bring young people like all of you. If you want to join me, you are always welcome."

Tan previously contested in the West Coast GRC with Jeffrey Khoo Poh Tiong, Nadrajah Loganathan, Hazel Poa Koon Koon, and Leong Mun Wai.

He was a People's Action Party (PAP) MP for Ayer Rajah SMC for 26 years before stepping down in 2006.

When asked if Tan was dropping a hint, a PSP spokesperson would only say, "It's his favourite cap from 2020."
