Man, 22, arrested after allegedly slashing man, 30, while naked at Hougang Ave 8
The victim was conveyed conscious to the hospital.
A 22-year-old man was arrested after allegedly slashing another man at Hougang Avenue 8.
He also injured three police officers as he was being arrested.
The police confirmed with Mothership that they received several calls for assistance along Hougang Avenue 8 on Apr. 17 at about 1:10pm.
Upon their arrival, officers saw the accused running around naked.
The man had allegedly attacked a 30-year-old man earlier.
While officers were arresting him, he allegedly attacked them with a wooden plank with nails, causing them to sustain minor injuries.
He was subsequently arrested for voluntarily causing hurt by grievous means and for voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from his duty.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they received a call for assistance at Block 681 Hougang Avenue 8 at about 1:30pm and conveyed the 30-year-old man conscious to Sengkang General Hospital.
A knife and a wooden plank with nails were seized as case exhibits. Police investigations are ongoing.
A worker in the vicinity told The Straits Times that police had earlier advised them to keep their windows closed and locked as "the suspect had fled at first".
